The goal is to support ports in building sustainable, competitive and future-oriented facilities.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/seacap.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/seacap-LinkedIn-Image-post_1200-x-627-px_engl-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"627\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p><em>\u201cNorwegian ports face significant upgrade requirements in areas such as supply security, emergency preparedness, digitalisation and logistics \u2013 but unfortunately lack sufficient government funding,\u201d<\/em> says Ingvar M. Mathisen, Chair of the board of the industry and member organisation Norske Havner (Norwegian Ports).<\/p>\n\n<p>As Mathisen points out, Norwegian ports receive very limited government funding.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>DNV\u2019s recent report, Drivers and Measures for a Robust Norwegian Port Sector (2025), highlights this challenge, pointing out that ports lack the capital, coordination and policy instruments required to meet demands for:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The green transition<\/li>\n\n<li>Supply security and emergency preparedness<\/li>\n\n<li>Digitalisation and efficient logistics<\/li>\n\n<li>New international standards (e.g. TEN-T, FuelEU Maritime)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Seacap helps to close this gap.
